Children's Orthodontics

Why is pediatric orthodontics important?

Dento-skeletal problems in adults can be prevented with early orthodontic treatment in childhood. Early detection of abnormalities in tooth position and bone growth is key to avoiding future problems.

From the age of 5, when the first permanent molars begin to erupt, it is advisable to make an orthodontic evaluation and take the first panoramic x-ray.However, if before there are alterations or you notice something particular, it is important to attend an assessment appointment. This allows us to see the development of the teeth, identify if they are in the correct order and take measures in time.

When to take your child to the orthodontist?

🔹 Crooked or crowded teeth from an early age
🔹 Lack of space for eruption of permanent teeth
🔹 Harmful oral habits, such as thumb sucking or mouth breathing.
🔹 Difficulty chewing or speaking.
🔹 Jaw that sounds or deviates when opening or closing the mouth.
🔹 Early or late loss of baby teeth, which may affect the growth of permanent teeth.

If you have noticed any of these signs in your child, early evaluation is key to avoiding major problems.
